Quiet overnight: 54 vehicles moving in Auckland · updated 34s ago
Some services never turn up. They run without a tracker, get cancelled late, or drop off the board a minute before they're due. Cityloom checks each service against where vehicles really are and flags the ones that look like they won't show, before you've waited twenty minutes to find out.
If the two buses ahead of yours on the same route are running eight minutes behind, yours probably will be too. Cityloom watches the services ahead of you and tells you early, so you can leave later, walk to another stop or take a different line.
After a trip, Cityloom tells you what happened in plain words: a late connection, a bus that left a stop early, a slow stretch on the motorway, a train held at a junction. You also get your own on-time record, and what would have happened if you'd caught the earlier or later one.

On time means less than a minute early and less than 5 minutes late.
Save the trips you take most. No sign-up, no email needed for the app.
It compares live vehicle positions with the timetable, every few seconds, across every bus, train and ferry in your city.
A heads-up when something ahead of you goes wrong, and a plain answer afterwards.
Cityloom uses the public transport agencies' own open data, plus what it measures itself.
For riders
Every line you ride fills in a bit more of your map. Ride the whole network and you'll have filled in the whole city.
Each new line, ferry route or train line you ride adds a thread to your personal map. Earn a badge when you finish a line end to end, and keep an eye out for the rare ones: the electric buses, the double-deckers, the ferry that only runs on weekends. It works from check-ins, so it doesn't drain your battery.
Ride on a run of days and keep your streak going. Shift a trip out of the rush hour and you earn extra. Moving a few people off the busiest services makes the peak less packed for everyone, and in Singapore, schemes like this moved between 7 and 8 percent of riders.

Spot a bus that never came, a carriage that's packed, or a bus that left the stop early? Report it. When other riders on the same service confirm it, your rep goes up and everyone gets a better picture of what's really happening.

For cities
Riders who opt in tell Cityloom which service they plan to catch. That gives you a demand signal before people reach the stop. Cityloom also measures how the network actually ran: missed connections, buses leaving early, services that never tracked.
In Auckland, Cityloom measured that about 1 in 6 tight timetabled connections failed between 16 and 20 October 2026.

Auckland Transport, Greater Wellington Regional Council and Environment Canterbury publish live and timetable data. Cityloom combines it with what it measures from vehicle positions over time.
No. Cityloom is independent. It uses the agencies' open data but isn't endorsed by them.
The service is in the timetable but no vehicle is reporting where it is. It may still turn up, but often it doesn't.
